This week's InSpIReMeThURsdAY theme is "Copycats".
It reminded me of "cookiecutter" houses. When I'm in a neighborhood filled with houses that look the same, I often wonder how the children find their way back home...
this is so great! i love the idea and execution. thank you for sharing it! i'm still a renter, so i can't really make my mark on the home i live in, but it's already quite unique. i think it looks like r2d2 from star wars. :-)
Thank you! I intended to say that breaking the mold can always be done on the inside! Some of the best places I've ever visited looked very non-descript from the outside.
I really like this~ it reminds me of a line from a Sheryl Crow song (not one that was ever on the radio). The line was something like..."those sad rows of houses with their optimistic colors" ~ now I'll have to go find the cd. Whenever I drive through the 'new house' neighborhoods, they all do seem just alike. I love old houses with wood floors and lots of character!
I love this! I know about the cookie-cutter houses.. my mom was determined not to live in one -- and we didn't. I love the one house that stands out magnificiently!
Isn't that the truth! I love your house that isn't the copycat... it reminds me of a crazy purple victorian house I sometimes drive by. It certainly stands out:> Good one!

Hi Leah,
Thank you! I intended to say that breaking the mold can always be done on the inside! Some of the best places I've ever visited looked very non-descript from the outside.
Love your site!

Little boxes on the hillside,
Little boxes made of ticky-tacky,
Little boxes on the hillside,
And they all look just the same.
From a song I learned in junior high music class. It's one reason I bought my old dump of a house. Nice illustration!
lovely picture!
This is great.

i hate cookie cutter houses solely because it makes it so easy to get lost! :)
happy illustration of a very unimaginative phenomenon...and you're right, the inside can be a BIG surprise. Great job.
Thanks everyone for your comments. You've made my days even brighter!
